5 Things You Didn't Know You Can Sell at a Pawnshop

October 8, 2021

Pawnshops probably don’t come to mind as a place you can trade-in your goods for cash. In fact, most people cringe at the thought of going into a pawn shop, but that’s because they don’t know exactly what kinds of things they can sell at a pawnshop. Pawning is a great way to make a little extra money, and you might be surprised at what you can get for your items.

Here are some things you probably didn’t know you can sell to a pawnshop:

1. Sports Equipment

Yes, your used sports equipment can be sold at a pawnshop. Some of the high-demand sports items here are golf clubs, baseball bats, and surfboards. Are they still in good condition? If they are, you’ll likely get at least 50% of their current market value.

When selling sports equipment to a pawnshop, clean them first. This will make the equipment look better and will be more attractive to pawnbrokers. Who knows? You could get really good money out of it!

2. Workout Equipment

In line with sports equipment, you can sell workout equipment as well. In fact, many people buy used workout equipment at a pawn shop. Therefore, pawnbrokers welcome workout equipment you have, whether dumbbells or even something as big as a treadmill.

3. Electronics

Any electronic device that is still in good condition can be sold at a pawnshop. This includes home appliances! You can even sell a hairdryer or a curler as long as they’re still in good condition.

4. Phone Accessories

Those old phone accessories you have that are gathering dust in your drawer or shelf may need to go. What better way to get rid of them but in exchange for cash, right? Pawnshops access little items, such as phone accessories, including holders, chargers, and cases. However, they need to be in good condition to ensure you get the most out of them.

5. Vintage Items

Vintage items can be sold at pawnshops, too. In fact, pawnbrokers collect rare and unique items due to their high market value. Before you sell a vintage item to a pawnshop, it’s best to research their high market value first.

When you’re planning to sell items at a pawnshop, especially if it’s your first time, it’s helpful to check out your local pawnshops and have a look around. Doing so will give you an idea of what they buy and sell. Even if you don’t have items in mind to sell yet, this will give you ideas on what things in your home you can sell for cash at a pawnshop.

Get Rid of Your Items for Cash at a Pawnshop

Pawnshops are unique establishments that enable you to get cash based on things you may feel are useless. Quite often, when we move into a new place or clean out some junk, we end up throwing things away that can be turned into cash or used for something else. Now, you can sell some of these items for cash at a pawnshop! Instead of throwing them away or letting them gather dust on a shelf, you can make some cash out of them!
